Couple of questions about the DART in Dublin

I'm trying to figure out what's the best way to get to Killiney and Houth from dublin city centre. I'm not hugely familiar with Dublin.

Is the DART station located near the city centre in Dublin?

There are 3 city centre DART stations. Pearse, Tara Street and Connolly. It's only one line so all have trains to Killiney and Howth

Not quite all one line. The DART has 2 northbound destinations: Howth and Malahide. Just remember check the displays.

Most go to Howth though, iirc..so you'd have to be unlucky.

If you ask for directions between Landsdowne and Killiney and they keep[ mentioning Tha Dort, they just mean the train you're on. :D

    Actually, it's pretty much a 50/50 split.

Connolly - is that near the city centre?

Another question, if anyone can answer: are there buses from the city centre to the airport? Or would it be better to get a taxi?

As mentioned in the 2nd post, Pearse, Tara Street and Connolly are all in the city centre. Check Google Maps to familiarise yourself with them.

AirCoach and Dublin both serve the airport. Check their websites for more info.

Woops, I missed that bit of text in the sentence, my bad.
    Cheers.

Excuse all the questions. Last one: in a few weeks I'll be arriving home in dublin airport at 10 pm, will there be any taxis or buses available to the city centre at that hour?

Check the Aircoach (www.aircoach.ie) or Dublin Bus (www.dublinbus.ie) website for the exact times, but you should be able to get a bus around that time.

If you're going to get the DART when you get into the city centre on Sunday night, check the Irish Rail website (www.irishrail.ie) to see what time the last Dart leaves the city.

That said, and hopefully the Dub locals can elaborate cause I'm only a country blow in :), if you're going to Howth after you land, a taxi direct might be easier?

I always get the dublin Bus 747/748. They are right outside the door in arrivals. Costs €6 (it's express)
You can pay cash on the bus but it's handier to have your ticket bought beforehand. You can buy them at the vending machines beside the arrivals door or do what I do and buy my ticket in a shop (called a 1 day rambler ticket) before flying out of the country. Then you'll have it in your purse when you arrive home and can run and hop on that bus whilst everybodyelse is fiddling with change and vending machines :D

If you are arriving that late, make sure you have a booking for your accommodation and that they know you are arriving late.
