Hotel renovation

We are due to go to Tenerife next month and I have just read that the hotel we are due to stay in (and have paid for already) is undergoing major refurbishment until mid July. Apparently 2 of the 4 pools are closed and only one Bar/restaurant is open, while the pool bar closes atn 6pm.

I booked this through 1800hotels and there was no mention of any of this at the time of booking or subsequently. Now the rate we paid was very low, it was about half the price as other hotel websites.

Question is simple - do 1800 have to stand over this? I have emailed them to ask to check out the entent of the renovation. If it is to be a building site, surely they would have to move us elsehwere if that is what we want?

Or am I dreaming that such could happen?
