Thailand- is it safe to travel?

Just wondering if people are still travelling to Thailand at the moment. We are due to go at the start of July. Plan was Bangkok-Chiang Mai-Islands, but looks like the islands will be our only option if we go which we don't mind too much. Also if anyone has gotten a refund for their flights, roughly how long did it take?…

It has all calmed down for the time being anyway. I'm off for a month next Saturday and i'm not even thinking twice about it. I'm doing nearly two weeks up north too.

The downside however is the ability to get good travel insurance. A lot of places are refusing any cover for Thailand at the moment and those who are have very limited cover.

The chances of you running into trouble in Thailand are fairly slim unless you're a complete idiot.

The main issue is insurance as the last poster said.
