I was out doing a spot of fencing Saturday rooting around an old cottage and I noticed all these old Spiders webs.
Tell me, what do spiders eat when
    1. its winter and there are no flies
    2. They build their web in a no fly zone.
    Thanks.

The first part of your question is a bit generalised as the answer varies by species of Spider. Some adults die after the eggs are laid and the young spend the Winter cocooned to emerge in Spring. Others hibernate. Mothman I'm sure will have more on this.

As for the No Fly Zone! No flies mean no flies. Spider moves or dies. Is anywhere really free from insects and flies?
Many Spiders build a new web every day. Some don't build webs at all. Wonderful creatures!
