Good news, Gleeks: Fox already has ordered a third season of Glee, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
The freshman series — starring Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele — is the No. 1 new scripted series among 18-to-49-year-olds and has averaged 9.4 million total viewers.
"In just one year, Glee has transcended the television landscape and emerged as a global pop-culture phenomenon," Peter Rice, Fox networks' entertainment chairman, said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.
Series creator Ryan Murphy also released statement to EW about the musical dramedy's success: "It's been a whirlwind year — from shooting the pilot to performing at the White House to the concert tour that began last week — and yet we all feel like we've just begun this amazing musical journey. We think our Gleeks worldwide are going to love what we'll have in store for them in seasons two and three."
Glee, which wraps up its first season June 8, will resume on Tuesday nights next fall.

I wonder how they are going to deal with the age transitions, aren't Finn and Puck supposed to be seniors, presumably they'll have to graduate eventually.

Think they could pull an opposite of Boy Meets World with character ages... That show was notorious for characters getting older incredibly quickly to suit the setting they needed for the show...

Think they've already done it with Rachel... Think she was originally a bit older, but last week it was revealed she's only 15... Anyway with Puck and Finn they can easily pull the whole, couldn't graduate due to grades storyline out of the bag... I imagine some characters will leave and new characters will join the Glee club... I hope we're not stuck with the same teens for 3 years anyway, without any changeover whatsoever...

Good news indeed....but again, hope they don't become complacent and go the way of The OC, which got picked up for two further seasons before the end of season 1.
