Can anyone point to me a good resource on Achilles stretches?

Had a run on Saturday morning all fine- about 6k, I'm training for 5k, then Saturday evening my Achilles was really sore to touch, I iced it and rollled it between thumb and forefinger and then yesterday its as if nothing was wrong and today no problems again.

Your Achilles is the tendon that attachs the Calf muscles to the heel bone. Tendons by their definition to do not stretch a huge amount... they say only about 8%. You will get more benefit from stretching your calf muscles. Suggest doing the usual calf stretches, (standing or sitting), but ensure that you do them with both the knee straight and the knee bent to ensure you stretch the Gastroc and Soleus. If the Achilles is giving trouble, icing is good, but contrast bathing is better for the lower extremities. Spend about 20-30 mins doing 2 mins cold, 2 mins hot, 2 mins cold.....(start and end with cold).

    Hope this helps.
