Youtube problems

    Hi all,

    Have an issue on my HTC desire with the youtube app at the moment. A lot of the 'popular' videos aint working and same goes for most of the videos that are 'related'.

    Anyone else get this problem? A simple test is to search for something blindingly popular such as susan boyle - and try watch the original Britains got Talent video.
    Search reveals all but the obvious one and I only find it under related when BANG- "Cannot play video". Works fine in web browser with full youtube site.

    On a side note it also happens on my Sony Walkman Youtube app- Maybe something to do with Ireland?

    Any help (and if it works for you) appreciated

    Could be that the video hasn't been converted by youtube into a format that is compatible with their mobile player.

    Could be but there are loads of videos this happens on. Had a quick Google and others have the same problem.

    It seems to be really popular videos like official music videos etc. Can you test out a video like this and let me know what happens. Just failed on Michael buble, Drake and timberland

    Working fine here. Just searched for the Susan Boyle one and viewed one with about 6,250,000 views?

    Yea thats what I get. But the vid i mean is the 94,000,000 viewed video.

    Cant load it all- but this is just an example. There are so many popular music videos that cant even be searched for- but they turn up in related videos (and cannot be played).

    Just quickly checked my bros iphone and the same happens. Is it that these videos contain some sort of rights issue I wonder..?

    Same issue with Youtube on my nokia E71.

    I'm not 100% sure if this is a recent problem for me, but I get the feeling I'm not able to access US Youtube content on my phone anymore. Music Videos especially fall into this category.

    I know this has been a news topic for quite a while regarding content being unavailable across the Atlantic for some media, but can anyone please confirm what exactly is available or unavailable?
