And he was right, he should go into his local RFD hand it in and then go to the Gardaí and hope they let him licence it.

He could end up in major DO DO if he holds on to it!

Air Rifle is a Firearm under the firearms regulations

Anything producing over 1 Joule of muzzle energy requires a Firearm Certificate.
This means anything more powerful than an airsoft device: the vast majority of airguns, paintball guns, conventional cartridge firearms, etc.

So yes, you do need a Cert.

Tell your uncle to rectify his situation immediately.

just to **** about, targets and the like and also the airsoft pellets don't seem to deter the cats from using our shed and coal bunker as a toilet constantly , a nice metal slug up the hole should ensure i dont have to dump any more clothes cos the cat pissed all over them when they were put out to the laundry

Presuming the cat is your neighbours shooting it could get you into a spot of bother.

:eek:I don't think you should put that down on your FAC1 form. It mightn't go down too well with your local FO.

Thread closed as it turned into a bloody train wreck and was adding nothing to the forum.
