Is there a website or tool (bar doing this in a car) which can give you the rough distances of a route?

I run along the quays in dublin and would like to know the distances so I can start running to set distances and times rather then ad hocing it bridge by bridge?

Free tools / sites please! I'm a broke student!

There's a few you can find through google but mapmyrun.com is by far the most reliable.

If you have an android smartphone, I'd recommend downloading cardiotrainer as it maps out your runs as a gps watch would, it shows a graphic illustration of the route you run on google maps and uploads all your history to a server...and if ye wanted to be a prick about it you can post your runs to facebook to annoy your friends!!:D You can also check your history on your pc on http://www.worksmartlabs.com/cardiotrainer/

+1 for mapmyrun.com...its excellent - started using it last year and great for trying to increase your distances and keep track of same...also has a log to allow you to track your progress
