How long does it take to catch the cycling bug?

So I'm sitting here, having done 20k yesterday (only my second outing on my bike) and thinking I'll go do another 20k this evening when it cools down a little. Now some of this may be down to the whole 'it's a new toy' feeling and also I'm sure the weather is playing a part, but I wonder how long it took other seasoned cyclists to catch the bug and start talking about clipless pedals and derailleur transmission systems. Is it possible that I'm already a little hooked?

It's more like a crack addiction than a run of the mill bug, you have to keep spending more and more money to chase that high.

One morning you wake up in a pair of Assos, sitting on a Pinarello under the Luas bridge in Dundrum, covered in Torq gel, wondering where it all went wrong.
