No I do not have a freight licence. All I ask is to cover the cost of diesel etc. Nothing more.

You may also have to check if you are covered by your insurance policy,IE "own goods" vs "other goods". A technicality that could void your insurance policy in the case of an accident.

Without a haulage license you haven't a hope in hell of explaining yourself if you were hauled in by the customs over a dodgy package.

I will have to get back to you on this suject.(buyingand selling back armchairs) Everyone seems to be concerned about taking freight/parcels to Ireland. I have doing it for quite awhile, but of course all the items were my own. Taking others items is another matter, and of course I want to stay legal. This is not a buisness I am trying to set up, just trying to defray some of the costs involved travelling between Ireland and the UK.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. It looks like my next trip to Ireland won't be until mid september/october.One other thing, north cork is long way from mayo/west of Ireland, quite a bit out my way. However I am sure we could work something out. knockfree
