Ive found some weighing scales in my grannys house. My grandad was a big fisherman but I dont think they were intended to be fishing scales as they weight is measured in "troy's". A quick google said that they are a measurement of gold. Anybody know anything about them?

Hey , you got a troy scales !

Yes , they're used for weight gold and silver and semi-precious stones .

The troy ounce is slightly heavier than our regular ounce .
    I think by about 10% .
