Perichorionitis Theory

Hey all- yet another Wisdom Tooth Problem!

So I began getting pain Wednesday morning in my lower left third molar, so have self diagnosed this as a bit of perichorionitis. I was however at the dentist last Thursday week for a cleaning, and the dentist remarked me wisdom teeth were coming along fine. So I know the aetiology of perichorionitis, just wondering could getting a cleaning have precipitated the infection..

Unfortunately pain is still there now, and wont be able to get to a dentist for another 2 weeks thanks to college, so currently self medicating with Nurofen, Bonjela and mouthwash- can I expect it to improve at all over the next while?

unlikely but you might need some antibiotics. use some warm salt water rinses, it will ease the pain, I guarantee.

meant to add, if you get any swelling of the floor of your mouth or anywhere else or any difficulty swallowing or breathing it's an emergency and you either need to go to your dentist asap or an E.R. if real bad

    I'm a spelling nazi. Pericoronitis.
By the way, don't bother with Bonjela. It doesn't do anything.
