Winamax European Short-Handed Poker Championships Sept 15th-19th

The 2010 European Short-Handed Poker Championships will now be a €500+€50 entry main event meaning that is more affordable for a greater number of poker players. The great structure will be kept and even improved. There will be two day ones to allow a greater capacity as demand is very high for this event

The venue is The Ballsbridge Inn, Dublin.

Only the main event will start six-handed max. The side events will be nine players max (they may start at 10 numbers dependant) and when the last 30 players are reached they will become 6 handed tables. All the events will use the same blind structure with altered clocks and starting stacks for the smaller events.

All tables are dealer dealt and there will be cash games from €1/€2 upwards. Cash games will be full ring and 6 max.

I will post the full charter details soon. There are a couple of things to be sorted before I can fill it in completely.

Weds 15th Sept 8pm - Super Satellite to Main Event €50+€10
25 Seats Guaranteed - One rebuy and One addon or 2 rebuys @ €50

    Thurs 16th Sept 2pm - European Short-handed Main Event Day 1a €500+ €50
    20,000 chips - 1 hr clock - 3 day event

    Fri 17th Sept 2pm - European Short-handed Main Event Day 1b €500+ €50
    20,000 chips - 1 hr clock - 3 day event

    Saturday 18th Sept 3pm - €270+€30 Side Event
    15,000 chips - 40 minute clock - 2 day event

    Sunday 19th Sept 3pm - €180+€20 Side Event
    10,000 chips - 30 minute clock - 1 day event

Initial capacity for this event is 600 players but we have contingency to make it 800 if necessary.

Winamax are the new sponsor for the event and they will be announcing some added value promotions for the event and they are holding the majority of the online satellites - 2 per week from next week.

They have already qualified over 20 players in the last few weeks. I fully expect to have around 250 online qualifiers for this event as GJP is running seat only satellites starting tonight.

Initial feedback around Europe is that this is going to be as popular or even more popular than the Deepstack was in February.

It takes place a week after the UKIPT in Dublin and a lot of the players from abroad have expressed that this great for them as the exes will be less for them as they can stay on from this.

I have worked with Aurelien Guiglini who is one of Winmax top pro players to create an even better structure than last time. We have made the antes as good as we can forsaking the usual early colour up of chips so that we can make the antes as correct as they would be in an online tournament.

All the tournaments will use this structure - the clock and starting stack will be different for each event.

Might seem like a silly question but the final table of the shorthanded game, is it 6 or 9? Looks like its gonna be a great festival

this will mean that there will be TV type stacks on the tables, like huge mega-stacks, at least it will look good
