Try an SSH tunnel to an external server (if you have one) or something.

There's a tutorial on the RedBrick wiki I think.

No idea what the problem actually is, but it should help if the proxy is blocking RealPlayer.

Im using Realplayer 8 and on the proxy tab it has 3 choices

Use My Web browsers HTTP Proxy
    NO HTTP PROXY
    Manually Configure HTTP Proxy

And on top of that tab it has 2 options to select PNA proxy or RTSP proxy..

I assume its the same (or similar) for other versions also.... Have you made sure you had all the right stuff selected on your proxy tab Landa2?

Well if your UNSURE how to configure Realplayer to use a proxy you can always select "Use My Web browsers HTTP Proxy" and then just set your browser to use the proxy and your good to go :)

Realplayer really isnt (or wasnt) a bad application.. (v8 is the last from the original company)

Ah, RealPlayer seems to have improved in the last few versions. It no longer causes your computer to grow fangs and start biting at your hand.

As someone else said, "Use My Web Browser's HTTP proxy" should be the easiest option - on Windows it should just use IE's settings (even if you use firefox, it'll use IE's proxy). If that doesn't work though, the following are DCU's HTTP proxy settings if you need to enter them manually:

    Hostname/server name is proxy.dcu.ie
Port is 3128 or 8080. Both should work, 8080 may be a better one to try first for streaming media (3128 is a caching proxy).

Also, apparently (but I've never tried this), there's a PNA proxy running on proxy.dcu.ie port 1090. This is according to the proxy information page.

(edit) Arg, sorry, didn't realise that was you asking. You probably already knew all that >.<
