Anybody know what the craic is with this?

According to O2, biffy are playing an intimate gig next tues in the O2. They were giving away 5 sets of tickets. Havent heard anything else about it and theres nothing on the bands site.

    Anybody?

Intimate and the O2 don't go hand in hand. Are you sure they meant a gig in Dublin, cos a lot of small venues in England are sponsered by O2?

I'd seriously doubt it though tbh, as much as I'd like it. Don't think they big enough for it, regardless of whats going on in England with them.

    Fairly certain it's ireland alright.

    It's on irish website http://blueroom.o2online.ie/Competition.aspx

And anybody signed up for o2 ticket notifications got it

Was thinking it might be in some kind of lounge or sumthin at the o2

Very bizarre, would absolutely love to go to that one!

    Yeah same here!

You have to go to the blueroom facebook and tell them why you deserve the tickets. Hate that kinda nonsense!

It says their giving away 10 tickets.

According to the forum on the biffy site they're playing for half an hour in front of 100 people. Presume the rest must be special invite or something.

How could you get to go to this show without winning the tickets ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,656 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Very much doubt you could. Seems like its one of those intimate gigs. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they were announcing something. Just seems a bit odd.

Dunno what they could be announcing. What are the chances of getting in by just landing up to the O2 ?
Slim to no chance id say. Might be worth a try al the same. You never know....

Announcing and promoting Bubbles the new single and maybe a date at the O2. Usual stuff for a band, seems weirdeer they'd be coming over here to do it.

I presume they'll just be playing in one of the rooms at the O2 - the blueroom perhaps? ;)

    Fat chance of that happening

setlist will probably be 40 mins and consist of

    mountains
    many of horror
    the captain
    breatheher ( if lucky )
    little soldiers
    Saturday superhouse
    machines
    god and satan
questions and answers ( if lucky )

biffy have become so predictable, it was their unpredictability that made me fall in love with them 8 years ago.

    Jaggy Snake acoustic ??? hummmmm

Thought it was great to see them like that but they seemed tired
and uninterested. The whole thing was a bit strange.
Was the gig just to promote the O2 ???

    I can dream
Well I'd understand them being tired, they're just stopping over after a constant run of gigs in Australia and then Wales - who wouldn't be wrecked after that like! I think the o2 was just coincidence, because the whole gig was a last minute thing they decided to do since they were over here anyway to co-host Phantom on Monday afternoon. We waited outside but after a few minutes they pegged it off in their van to catch a flight :(
Wasn't expecting crazy energy or anything, twas all acoustic after all, but Simon's voice was in top shape and they got a few oldies in there so I was delighted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 900 ✭✭✭Joe_Dull

This isn't in order, but as far as I remember ...

    Saturday Superhouse
    God & Satan
    The Captain
    Little Soldiers
    Machines
    Breatheher
    Many of Horror
    Mountains

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

all those songs with exception of breatheher are less than 3 years old :pac:

not a bad set though for an acoustic gig.

Not at all! Crowd were a bit dead at times, but it was a lovely atmosphere and great performance

Edit: Whole gig's up on the o2 website http://blueroom.o2online.ie/LiveAndLoud.aspx
