Freeview from UK with Big Aerial yes. It probabily doesn't work with Freeview HD though as that is DVB-t2.

It's amusingly only partially compatible with Saorview here as the "Trial" was political, not technical.

That is a bit unfair, since the 'trial' was followed by 'tests' which must have changed things for the better. During the trial, I beleive the Humax boxes were upgraded. Do not know for sure, as I was not part of the trial.

It does MPEG4, so will get picture and sound, but AFAIK it's not NorDig spec, unless they have done a firmware update.

The 2000T is a good few years old. You wont see many of them as they are a tweaked version with a tuner change of the 2000 which was the HD Sat receiver that Humax had out back in 2006/7. Initially they were used for BBCs London HD trials.

As Watty says it could be adapted as MHEG5 is only software. However it would be highly unusual to see it rolled out in a firmware update as MHEG5 has to be licensed. Humax are like any other business more interested in selling their latest products. Support normally drops off after a few years unless its a very popular product where you might have third party support from anoraks. Anyhow there has only been one firmware update to those boxes and that fixed problems with H264 and thats a long time ago.

It will work of course without the MHEG5 and has a powerful tuner and a 5v antenna boost that actually works !

ok, thanks for that, at the moment it's pulling in all test channels including HD and subtitles + teletext, that will do as far as I'm concerned.
