    Hi Guys,

Looking for some Peugeot experts here..

The car was in for a service (40kms on clock) and the garage said the head gasket needs to be done (790 euros) or they could 'patch it up' (for 95euros) by tightening the head bolts.. I declined both and on a visual inspection there is a slight oil leak between the head and the block..

Can someone tell me what the manufacturer's warranty on this car is?

Should the warranty be covered by any Peugeot garage?

Should the warranty cover a head gasket replacement?

    Thx
    jayo

    Hi jayo99,
Usually two years warranty here but they give 3 years in the u.k..
Peugeot should look after this for you...thats if you've had it serviced with them and its within warranty....if not they should cover some of the cost.

If your not having much luck with your dealer maybe give Gowans a call and see where you stand.
I know peugeot were using bmw petrol engines for awhile but not sure which
    one you have....
If you pm me your vin i can find out when your warranty started.
    Ron.

...garage said the head gasket needs to be done (790 euros) or they could 'patch it up' (for 95euros) by tightening the head bolts.. I declined both and on a visual inspection there is a slight oil leak between the head and the block..

....sounds well iffy to me. no decent mechanic would offer option #2.

Sounds more like 790 euro and/or 95 euro for a quick rub with a rag.

If the headgasket has gone, ask to see the compression report - as that is the only way they would know.. unless they already had the head off..

    Conclusion - lying chancers.
