I'm only looking for 1 item, a tda8512j, an IC amp.

    TDA8512J
I checked the usual suspects but it looks like there arent any available. Anywhere.
You'll be very lucky to find one.

Seems it went out of production quite quickly.
One with a similar spec is TDA8561Q.
Still in production, and rehashed in 2009.
I doubt it is a plug in replacement, but it's close.

    Compare

    Slaphead07,

I can't see a DIY forum on that site, other than a link to diyaudio.com ?

    Cheers,

    Ritz.

    You're right Ritz, my mistake,
we don't split stuff up like that (it encouages non-DIYers to browse them) but if you ask in the 'general' forums at http://www.tirnahifi.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=8 a tame geek will be along to answer your questions soon enou
    gh.
There's a few guys there who are right on the 'cutting edge' of DIY stuff... if they don't know where the bits can be got then they'll make them!
