Just wondering if anyone can advise if cold calling people via their listings in the likes of the Golden pages is legal or not in Ireland?

Yes. You can call up all the listings in Golden Pages. Ask them their address and get the relevant person's name and email address. Transfer all these details on to a written sheet and then into a database. All these details now belong to you. And you can call, email or write to them as you like. If they ask you to remove their details then you must do it.

Never, I repeat never, mail anyone from Golden Pages without doing the above. They are loaded with sleepers and woe betide you and your business if you get caught.

Many thanks for that. Actually not for use myself at all but know a company plagueing people listed with a dodgy product so just wanted to have my facts straight. Again thanks.

No you can't you have to make sure they are not listed in the National Directory Database. It's illegal to cold call companies listed in the directory.

No idea what you mean by this. I'm not aware of any regulations covering direct mail. You can tell a company to stop mailing you but they can until you do.

You have to go x directory to avoid these callers. That could take over a year I'm afraid. They can call you as many times as they like as your number is in the public domain.
