Just wondering about this. Basically I was involved in a very messy will. The executor of the will and I do not get on. Do I have to wait for him to sort out the terms of the will? If so, how long should I wait? Should I be asking for the will to be settled myself instead? Thanks

As far as I remember, the Executor gets a year to take action - after that you can look into removing him/her and having an Administrator appointed. (Note - the Executor does not have to complete his/her duties within the year)
If you are interested in how this all works, have a look at the Succession Act 1965, which you can find at www.irishstatutebook.ie . It is relatively easy to understand and navigate, and should give you greater clarity.
