Fantastic news. Was going to Sky+ it on Sky One at 5am on Monday am, but would have been a pain having to watch it - even with the fast forward ability - because of all those bloody adverts on Sky One.

I'd like to say fair play to RTE for doing this and I've just e-mailed say that to them. I know it would be much better to simulcast it on Monday morning but this is far better than Thursday and it shows a little bit of care for the audience.

It also shows some common sense from RTE to scheduling which isn't always the case and I've been the first to complain about them before to anyone who'd listen so I think it's only right to compliment them now.

Great move by RTE. While it might be fun to watch the finale 'live', I don't think I could ever really get into it with the show being butchered every 10 minutes or so with an ad break. Even the idea of recording it with Sky + would mean having to stop every so often and fast forward the staggering 40 minutes or so of ads. I think RTE will get some great viewing figures Monday, since people who would have recorded the 'live' finale will now likely tune into RTE Monday evening anyway. In all fairness to RTE, they will have only a few (and short) ad breaks. Also, I doubt anyone will complain that ass gravy like Cougar Town and The Good Wife get shafted.
