Does anyone know if UPC have a cooling off period?

As in if you signed up to a service and are not happy with, can you cancel it within a certain period and no face any penalties?

    Tox

I think 7 days is a legal right, not sure about the month. Perhaps UPC are being generous, which seems out of character.

    According to oasis.gov.ie

    Cooling off period
A cooling off period is the period when a consumer may legally withdraw from a contract without incurring a penalty. If you have given your consent to a service provider, this cooling off period is seven working days from the date you receive the terms and conditions of the contract.

It should also be written on your agreement somewhere.

Anyone know the story with this these days. Signed up this day last week, signed for the boxes last Friday. It's rubbish and I want sky back. Never received a written contract just email that my order was processed. The t&c's on their website seems to indicate that the cooling off period ends once you start receiving the services

from their web,not sure what to make of it:

"You are entitled to a cooling-off period of 7 days, which begins on the day that your order or contract with UPC is concluded or the day that you receive written confirmation of your order or contract from UPC. If UPC fails to provide you with written confirmation, the cooling off period is extended to three months from the date that your order or contract with UPC is concluded. During the cooling-off period, you can cancel your order or contract without giving a reason and without incurring charges or penalties other than possible charges incurred in returning any equipment that we have provided to you. Upon cancellation, where applicable, UPC will reimburse you any monies due within 30 days and any credit agreements entered into at the time of the contract will be cancelled as well. However, please be aware that you may not cancel your order or contract once UPC begins providing you with services with your agreement and at that point you are bound by UPC's Terms and Conditions with respect to cancellation and termination."
