Problem with Pace Satellite Box

I have an old style Pace Satellite decoder box for Free To Air. I had a uk Digital viewing card that needs to be updated and I had lost several channels.

However I have now lost all channels and the box now says "no signal being received", I know the signal from the dish is ok as I have checked it.

I suspect that the box has just given up after good service but my wife is wondering is it that we havent renewed the card. What does anyone think, as far as I am concerned we should have some signals.

Also, if I am replacing it what would you recommend to replace it with? I have a basic Freesat box on another TV and would like to keep the Free-To-Air if possible. Is there a free-to-Air satellite box that gives HD? I realise that I may have to get a new digital viewing card.

    Thanks

did you check it by plugging it into the other tv position
and plugging in the freesat box into the main position?

the card (if its a blue house one ) has been switched off as they are no longer used, but will only affect fiver, sky 3, and five usa.

Hd boxes are available Example here
    and lots of other places.
