I know Apple and lots of other resources are on the net for free but:

Does anyone know of any library that rents books on objective-c?
Does anyone know of any bookshops that sell books on objective-c?

    Thanks in advance.

I bought Stephen Kochan's book in Hodges Figgis with a voucher there a while back.

If you're in Dublin, there's a few Objective-C/iPhone programming books downstairs in Easons O'Connell Street.

If money isn't an issue, then I strongly recommend the Lynda videos.

Download the iPhone Programming course from Stanford on iTunes U. Run by a couple of Apple devs who work on the iPhone OS and applications.

Ask your local library. Sometimes they will order in books.

    Amazon.

    I use Safari books online.

It isn't cheap though. But you can rent 5 books at a time for $10 a month (cheapest offering they have).

    This book is pretty good.

I downloaded lots of stuff from itunes u - intro to oo and obj-c and java etc but I moved them to my ipod and my ipod harddrive went.

But they have youtube channels so I will scour them and only download the ones I cant stream anywhere.

I checked my local library - and inter library of the area and also borrowbooks.ie and cant find anything for objective-c or iphone of any use.

The only reason I want objective-c is cos I know a fair bit of c and obj-c is a good bridge to oo programming and useful. Then i will learn Java and brush up on Html-s and look into css and ruby(rails) and maybe php or something else.

I will check that site - that price is not too bad, will get it if I get through and grasp the stanford etc courses online.

    Thanks everyone.

Don't forget the free book from Apple: Introduction to The Objective-C Programming Language
