Problems with iTunes with new Hard Drive.

So I've had to get a replacement hard drive. Did the usual of downloading iTunes etc as soon as possible.

However, when I restored my backed up files to the laptop, iTunes stopped working. I've reinstalled it several times, but now, every time I open iTunes, nothing happens.

Now I think iTunes is a piece of shít, but I use it to update my iPad and podcasts, hence actually caring.

    Any suggestions?

well, i guess the first question is - are you getting an error message?second question is - can you see if the itunes library is pointing to the right location?

No, no error message at all, it just doesn't load up. Where should the library?

    User/Music/iTunes?

When you say "nothing happens", does iTunes open up, does it freeze, or has it just not found your music library?

No quite literally nothing happens - when I attempt to open iTunes, it just doesn't open.

If you haven't changed the default, your Itunes library should be located in your Music folders (or similair) in Windows (not sure bout Macs). Though if it's not opening at all, that would suggest that it's not so much the hard drive, as the installation of the programme itself..you're not even getting an error message?

Nope, despite multiple reinstallations. Pain in the arse really.

at a bit of a loss then tbh..can't understand why it's not finding the .exe for itunes if you've re-installed it, unless there was some form of conflict with another programme...

If its a library problem, uninstalling and reinstalling won't do anything.

How did you backup and restore the files to the hard drive?

First of all, lets find out if its a problem with the program by testing it in a new user account. If it opens there (it will be a blank library if it does), try creating a new iTunes Library. You may also be able to recover your library and playlists after you do.
