If you do in fact find one you can be practically guaranteed that it's some dodgy springer or something equally crap. For relatively small money you can pick up a good starter airsoft gun from most of the shops - try Hobby Airsoft out in Rathcoole (see the retailers thread), Eirsoft in Cabra or Go Tactical in Bray (which is beside the dart station). That way you can be guaranteed that you're buying something that isn't a lemon and that will allow you to skirmish if that's what you want to do.

Most of the retailers sell on line.

In Louth/Meath the nearest 'walk in' store to you is Airsofteire (google them - they've an online store as well). I've dealt with them a few times and they've always sorted me out.

Basically the markets sell 20 euro guns for 50-100 euro.

Airsoft retailers sell proper guns for 120-160 euro, and higher qualities and so on a bit more.

Them market guns are pure sh1te.

You could try going to a skirmish and renting first. :)

Dude, maybe take a look over on our airsoft adverts thread - there are a few decent bits and bobs up there. If you're worrying about buying check out the user feedback thread - but in general I've bought quite a few bits on airsoft adverts (usually when I couldn't find what I wanted new or stuff caught my eye) and I've only been burned once (out of maybe 15 - 20 times). Those are good odds!

I would , but id rather get a gun first because its 20 to enter and then 20 to rent a gun in my area i think.

If i go once i would go waay more times and wouldn't want to pay that 20€ each time :)

Did you ever try skirmishing before? There's no point in paying big bucks for an AEG, only to find out you don't like airsoft :)

The best thing you can do is walk into an Airsoft shop and ask them what the story is. The Airsoft shop that I have dealt with have always taken the time to explain Airsoft to n00bs new players, and will tell you honestly what the best course of action is, wether its to get a crap, overpriced, ound city quality springer in fairyhouse, or get a good starter AEG for small bit more.

And, I knwo people say that you should go skirmishing first, but there's only one thing you need to know. Do you like CoD? If so, then you'll love airsoft, cause its bassicall CoD in real life
