    saturday/sunday: 0 shows

    That's nothing...

Monday: 4 shows + 5 new shows to check out
Tuesday: 2 shows + 3 new to check out
    Wednesday: 3 shows + 2 new
    Thursday: 3 shows + 4 new
    Friday: 1 show
    Saturday/Sunday: 1 show

Out of the new ones I'll probably only end up following two of them - that's what usually happens anyway...
That's also before including the likes of Stargate Universe and Dexter...
I may have to drop one or two of the shows I currently watch, and wait for the summer to catch up on another two...

Looking at that list I think I'll have a much quieter tv season ahead since its only No Ordinary Family thats grabbed my attention.

I've been following the upfronts, but the one thing I don't get. Who is this for? Is it so that advertisers know where to put their money next season; is it so Charlie Sheen knows if he can afford another Christmas beating up his wife; is it for viewers to ocd'ly plan their autumnal nights? I've never seen any UK or Irish channels do this - they have a 'the new season on <insert channel>' now and then, but that's in the last few weeks before it starts, not 4 months ahead of time.

I'm just interested in why they do this, is all.

Its all about advertising. It means advertisers can buy commercial time up front (or long before) the shows actually air.

    Monday 3
    Tuesday 0
    Wednesday 2
    Thursday 1 (possibly 2)
    Friday 0

I'm not going to bother thinking about if some new show will end up being worth watching. I'll check them out in due course, not going to bother looking too much into them though. When I watch something, I rather it be new as of the viewing, and not seeing some synopsis in action.
