The input for recording and what not on my Macbook is ****ed. Its the one beside the earphones input, and its the exact same size.

Anyone know a fix for it? Or if i can assign the headphone input to do the job instead?

Hi mate, I have a slight lose connection with the headphone jack on my macbook, it does work but if the jack is moved a bit I will lose some of the audio like the bass which is wierd.

I rang a repair company and they said because its connected to the logic board, the board would have to replaced

Would be great if someone in the know could confirm for both of us.

Oh right from your post I thought it was not the headphone one but the other one, if you know what I mean :) Most of the time it works fine but It's best to prob get it fixed now before it goes altogether.

I bought mine as a refurb its the black macbook, I would like to know if a logic board replacment is the only option for this type of problem ?

I have apple care till Sept next year, I guess this type of repair would be covered under it.

Have you tried a second set of headphones by any chance ?

Sorry, I made things a bit unclear there!!

It IS the other input thats broke, NOT the headphone one.

But it does sound like the same problem to be honest!! :D

Just get an external USB soundcard like the iMic or Xmod and use that instead.

I'm gonna take mine with me to Cork when I go away for a weekend and get it looked at by an apple repair place. I don't know of an apple repair place in waterford.

I'd rather get it sorted, these sort of things would get to me and I would prefer to get it sorted as the mac is still under apple care.

Appreciate the advice on the work around though mate.
