Android Contact App Oddities

    Hi,
Is anyone else using the stock Android Contacts app at all? I've got it on my rooted Desire anyway, it's all fine but there's two strange things:

    1) The contacts have always been displayed with w at the top, the next heading is then ' and after that it's p, then s and that's it. The contacts under each heading are nothing to do with w or ', but the contacts under s do begin with s. Furthermore, if I press the side scroller thing and scroll down it goes from w to ' to e to v to c to n to o and is just totally mixed up. It's not too much of a problem as I can just use the search function to find people, but it's a bit strange.

    2) My favourites list gets populated by random people who I haven't called recently at all and I have no idea why they are there. I haven't texted, called or done anything with these contacts recently, even viewed them. Just totally random contacts are in the favourites group.

    3) When I was on the phone earlier and the call had a menu group, I pressed 1 on the keypad to get the menu option one and then it said press # to speak to someone, I pressed # and it didn't put me through to someone, but it slid to another screen saying contact is not in phonebook or something like that

    4) I had duplicate contact under the same contact and I don't know how he got there. I couldn't delete it, but was able to delete it on Gmail.com.

Just a few strange things I noticed. Nothing major but would be nice to sort them out so any feedback would be appreciated :)

I use the stock contacts app, but on a nexus one so that might make a difference. but all my contacts are in alphabetical order and under the right letters.

Again maybe it is the nexus one but my favorites are all people I have contacted recently (as in today!)

    This I haven't tried...

Contacts wise I found that also, but I think they were coming from facebook as when I tried to edit them rather than delete it said that editing facebook contacts is not possible.

hope that helps - not sure it will though other than show that so far you are on your own with issues noted!:(

    Haha, thanks for the input.

That's weird about the contacts appearing the way they do for me if it doesn't happen to you. Maybe it's the rooted version of contacts that just has an error or two?

Could be - I know nothing on the software side of things unfortunately to help you other say reinstall? :D

did you install it separately? might have something to do with it but as I said you'd need to get someone far more knowledgeable. but at least you know you can/should be able to get it working properly!

Yup, you wouldn't believe the trouble I went through to get the app on my desire :D Would be afraid to reinstall because it's actually working fine for what I need it to do, these are just a few little nags but I'd be a bit afraid to reinstall in fear of messing up what I have already!
