I am VAT registered and need to claim back VAT paid on a purchase from a UK supplier but can't find the form required. Anyone know?

If it's a business purchase from a vat registered supplier in the UK, they shouldn't have charged you vat (I stand to be corrected on that though). I'm not too sure what to do in terms of forms, but it wouldn't be an issue for the Revenue here in Ireland. I'd suggest that you should get onto the supplier and ask them why they are charging you vat and then get a credit on your account for that amount.

If you gave them your VAT number they shouldn't have charged you VAT in the first place.

They simply didn't realise I was vat registered and I forgot to give them my vat number. But I know there is some form I fill in to claim a refund.

We were in this situation earlier this year also. But on our case they had to charge VAT cause most of the work was undertaken in the UK.

If you want to PM me. I think I have a link to some information if can find it.

I have been informed that there is a new proceedure for claiming back EU vat and it must be done on revenue.ie so I have registered. Sorry manofthewest, only seeing your post now, would have pm'd you had I seen post sooner.

    No problem the fizz.

I must check out revenue.ie and see the new proceedure. Thanks.

I didn't bother in the end as it was a small amount, but I know you need to register with ROS first. See the link on this page regarding ROS: http://www.revenue.ie/en/index.html

I am registered with ROS already. But I don't see any links there for EU VAT repayment claims.
