Bad crash in Clontarf

Just on the way back from Howth about 11:30pm. Veron Ave closed off, drove around the back. Undercover, Ford Fiesta crashed into a lamp post, looked pretty bad. No roof or doors left on the car.

Just wanted to say, hope it's no one from the forum. And everyone in the car is ok and makes a speedy recovery.

    Dave.

Just note that the Fire Brigade will take a roof off a car to make it easier to remove any injured people if there is any sort of neck or back pain, just in case it is something serious.

+1, removing car roofs is fairly standard procedure now with the fireservice if they have any indication someone might be in any way trapped or there's even the slightest risk of neck or spinal injuries. Anyhow, still wholeheartedly hope nobody got injured.

I have noticed that alot. Them NCAP test's are a load of rubbish to be honest, 5 Star rating into a brick wall. When most of the time it's lamp posts, traffic lights, trees or road signs (sorry about that rant) .

On topic again, my owl lad asked a Gardai beside him in traffic were they ok, he said there grand. So I think it was just a close call, perfect example of why seat belts should be worn by everyone, no one is excluded from the laws of physics and accidents can happen and can happen to anyone.
