Hi, I had a problem with my 03 A6 Multitronic,PRNDS flashing and car driving badly.Local Audi replaced coil pack that was causing cylinder misfire. They checked the gear box and is ok, I need a new ECU unit to stop the flashing. They want 1400 euro to replace same.
I love the car it's a great drive and great spec, but is it work putting this sort of money into a 03 and is there a chance that the gear box could go.

There's fair chance that the autobox ECU could go again, as quite a lot of Audi Multitronic owners have discovered.. I'd talk to a few dealers up north (if the car can still move) to see if they could do it cheaper.

I found a couple of places in the UK who repair ECUs for £250, would it be worth a shot.
