    just wandering do ye find catching magpies in a trap or shooting them more of a success?getting a little hardship with the little cxxts.

    Larsen trap, you'll have much better results when you compare time invested and results gained compared to shooting.

    Back in the auld days we used to eat the pigeons we shot.

    Indeed in the even older days, we used to ship them out to Germany.

    Then the lads starting shooting crows and sending them :-0

    Never did eat a magpie. Has anyone?

    Alternatively, you do know where the "trap" in trap and skeet comes from, right? How about "pull" or "dead bird."

    Got a bird in your trap - pull!

    caught 35 magpies in a larson trap in my back garden laet year ,that would have been a lot of hours shooting ...so the larson trap wins out for me

    I got between 20 and 30 last year around my house with a borrowed trap, theres none moved in around here yet this year!!!:D which is just as well as I dont have the trap anymore!!!

    No bothers, I can count on average 20 magpies a day around me.
    The noise of them in the yard in the morning.

    The larsen trap will work for grey crows also.

    Thats sounds a bit glib. I have 6 traps working so have plenty of spare magpies
