    Hi guys,
I've met a guy in college i've really fallen for. He's smart, good-looking, chatty and really fun to be around. We've only spoken a few times, briefly, but we seem to get on really well. Also, we've been chatting on Facebook a little bit over the last few days.
Anyway, so i'll cut to the chase. The thing is that i'm a little shy and wouldn't be considered the most up-front kind of person. In other words, i'd never have the confidence to ask him straight out if he'd like to go for a drink. I'd do anything for him to ask me tbh. I've quite a few male friends but i've never actually had a boyfriend before so i can't say i'm very well up on flirting and what not!
Is there anything i can say or do which will let him know, in a subtle way, that i'm interested?
I'd be so greatful for any advice! Thanks a lot!

Is there any college nights\events out coming up that both of you will be at. you get talking to him more......................or you could just take the plunge and ask him straight out to go for a drink.........at lest you will know.

OP, not all, but the majority of guys will either be oblivious to or not sure on signals you send. Be kind of open about it...

Next time you are on FB to him or whatever write "Do you wanna go for a drink with me sometime?" You don't have to send it straight away, but keep writing that and eventually you will actually send it.

Don't let it go on too long, we tend to blow people up in our heads and it makes it harder to ask them!

Exactly what mini dazzler said. Life is too short to be waiting around relying on other people, take the initiative, even if it does take a while to build up the courage. You never know, you might be delighted you did.

Ooooh, nothing better than having a crush!:)I always have to have at least three, important to have lots of daydreaming fodder!!

You let someone know you are interested by being just that, interested. Listen and take and interest in what he has to say, lots of smiling, laughing at his jokes etc etc. If it's too much to ask him out directly, I'd suggest an upcoming event that the two of you could attend, or casually arrange to meet him there. Or invite him to a house-party. Basically it's not as much pressure then. He sounds quite interested if he is emailing you etc! What are the emails about?

Not hijacking the thread - but I just want to comment on how interesting I find it that you say that.

I'm gonna get banned - and apologies OP, I don't want to change the topic at all - would you be of the opinion this is the case due to the relative lack of "sensitivity" in males as oppose to females - and that's a generalization in itself, cause some females are more sensitive than others and some males more so than some females - but generally speaking.

Feel free to PM me or start another thread in psychology forum maybe?

    you could say

"just letting you know i'm available for dates"
"so are you going to ask me out"
"haha your flirting with me" see how this goes and go with the flow.
ask him if he buys girls drinks on dates? then tell him the drink you like.

this adds a bit of banter to it and cna be covered up a s a joke if you get overly embarassed

Thanks minidazzler but i just can't imagine myself ever doing that! Besides, i don't think its gone that far, i feel i'm in with a chance-hopefully he'll catch onto that fact and hopefully, things will take off from there...

What i was really asking for were some tips to really send him the message that i'm interested!

I nuderstand what you mean! Nothing like spending your time day-dreaming...
You have interesting suggestions tho...at least they're things i could imagine myself doing..Might just give them a go when the class are going out next week!
Emails?! No, we were juust chatting over FB. I joined a group, he ''liked'' the fact i joined the group, i sent him a message back and it went on and on like that...Not much 2 be getting over excited about now, is it?? We did seem to click tho...

Now, i've never heard of those tactics before! Ye, i could give them a go. And if it all goes wrong-There's nothing like a bit of reverse psychology!

    Just ask him out!:D

Seriously the amount of times female friends ask me (a guy) why such and such won't ask them out if its so obvious she likes him etc etc etc.... Honestly as a guy I'd really wish more girls would take the initiative and just ask me out! If you're getting along as well as you say I doubt he'll mind. The worst that'll happen is he'll say no and you'll know one way or the other for sure!
