I am currently writing up my CV after recently completing the PGDE. I am going to be sending my CV around to a few schools and apply for a job.

What should be on a teacher's CV?
My old CV has personal info, educational qualifications, additional qualifications/info, work experience, skills profile and references.

Also, should I get a reference off my teaching practice school before I leave? Or will just naming the principal as a referee on my CV suffice?

    Thanks

Can you ask the person in your PGDE school who deals with CVs? I had a very informative chat with the person in my school about this and they offered very helpful advice on what they look for - "something that stands out" featured strongly in this advice.

Also, sell yourself as the school might need you; put in "added value" things like GAA, debating, whatever.

First Aid qualifications, familiarity with and ability to use something like Moodle, maintain a school website, driving licence to allow you drive a small bus, outdoor pursuits leader certificates etc..
