Jesus... girlfriend is making me watch this crap!

Honestly, the Oprah audience make me weep for humanity!

I fastforwarded through every bit where Oprah was speaking - she is unbelievably annoying - it wasn't much, really. I thought the real life Glee club were very good though, nice to see what can be achieved by real teenagers without music producers and autotune.

I cant watch American programmes that have live audiences, they scream and roar for absolutely no reason. I know they are encouraged to do so by the producers etc. on the show but it's incredibly annoying and I just have to flick over.

Oprah comes out. Cue screaming and roaring for 10 minutes. She says hello, more screaming and roaring, says who she's gonna have on the show, more clapping, whooping and screaming. Says she's going to take a break, standing ovation and screaming. Welcomes everyone back, more cheering, shouts out in a wierd voice something like "Today we're going to have JENNIFFEEERRRR ANNNISSSTOOOONNN on the shoooooooow" Cue insane reaction and screaming once again.
This continues for ages until the guest actually comes out, when they really raise the roof with beatlemania-style screaming (this is mainly women in their 40s for god's sake) nothing is said for 5 minutes cos the audience are going mental. Then it calms down. The guest says "hi" pandemonium ensues once again. All throughout the interview and any time the guest says anything or makes an attempt to say anything slightly funny the audience screams and roars, stamps their feet.
It's all so over the top, fake and contrived. Do the producers really think that this is how normal people should behave? Oprah- "What's your favourite thing to eat?" Guest- "I like ham sandwiches!!!!!" Audience "Yaaaaaaaa!!! Wooooo!!! Aaaaaahhh! (standing ovation)"
It's just so mindless and stupid, and happens basically on all American chat shows and live. Just cant watch as a result.

    Spot on Wheelsonthebus!

I said to the girlfriend that if they cut out all out all the hollering and whooping from the audience, it would be a 20 minute show.

When Oprah was introducing the Glee cast first, there was a lad behind her in a green T-Shirt who was just bouncing around like a spastic colon in excitement... let me see if I can find it on YouTube.

    ..

    Here we go:

Check out the guy in the green-shirt behind her from 36 seconds in.

    Oh dear god.

Ya you're dead right. And you just reminded me of the amount of time they spend actually promoting what you're already watching!!

Like they show all the clips at the start, of what's gonna be on the show, then before they go to one of the thousands of ad breaks- they show you loads of clips of whats coming up. They're so afraid you'll change the channel in the mean time. By the time the thing that they've been promoting actually happens in the show- you've seen it ten times already.

Ha ha, between the screaming, shouting, ad breaks and in-programme promotion the actual programme must be only 10 minutes long!

    Let's not forget:

"And from our good friends at Dove Bodycare... here's a new piano.!"

"Straight from our friends at Dove Bodycare!"

    "Good ol' Dove Bodycare!"

"Bodycare like you've never known at Dove Bodycare!"

"Bodycare doesn't get better than Dove Bodycare!"

.. what in sweet f*ck do Dove Bodycare have to do with pianos?!
