When you apply to renew your learner's permit do they post it out?

    I went to the motor tax office and gave in a form to renew my learner's permit.
    He took my licence (which has a few days left) and told me they'd post it out.
    I thought they gave it to me there and then when I got the original one.
    Do they normally post them out? Have to do checks or something..?
    Little bit worried because he didn't give me a receipt and for some reason I didn't ask for one.
    How ling does it take to come?

    Most MTO's post them out. You hear of them processing them there and then every once in a while but the majority post them. You should have it in a week. But it all depends on how efficient they are!

    Yea thats if they are efficient, took me 4 months to get mine posted. And they wouldn't back date the licence to when I sent it out, so I had to wait 10 months before I could even sit my test :/

    It's kinda stupid that you have to give them your old one, when there is a delay. Mine had a few days left on it and I would have liked to do a lesson at the weekend.
