Got into a bit of a tiff in a game. Could someone clarify rule for me as i cant find it on tag rugby site!

If a penalty is given to your team, does the Tag count return to zero.
    Or is it
just simply a free tap. I was sure it just a free tap and the tags continued from where you left off, but i cant find this anywhere!

    Cheers

Eh, zero. Not really much of a penalty otherwise.

i thought the ten yards defensive line and free tap was a big enough advantage!

Returning the tags to zero is the nearest thing to giving an opposition a scoring chance like a sanction in the game proper (obviously you cant have a penalty kick).

Fair point. Cheers for the replies

If i have penalty advantage then its surely worth my while taking the penalty instead of trying to gain the advantage, then getting tagged when the ref calls advantage over?

Thats your choice and part of the fun of it all. Knowing when to head for the line and when to just take the tag.

    Enjoy.
