The unit beside is empty (it’s a corner unit) and the landlord has allowed me to put outdoor signage on the outside wall of the unit. It will be 1metreX1.5metre.
Do I need to contact the sdcc about doing this or would it be ok to go ahead the fact the landlord gave me the ok

Take a chance a put up your sign, fcuk SDCC.
If you contact them, Im sure they will have some busy body looking to charge you for something.

Your paying enough in rates I presume. At worst you can always take it down.

As Poly says, just put the sign up. If there's an issue, which is unlikely as the unit beside you is also commercial, take it down. Assuming the sign is flat against the wall, I doubt there'll be any hassle.

Sometimes its better to ask forgiveness instead of permission!

One piece of advice get the sign company to erect the sign,
their sign installers should be fully insured and so if it came down and hit someone they are liable not you

A lot of places get around it by printing "Temporary Sign" somewhere in the corner. If it can be easily removed I wouldnt worry about it. Ive seen a couple of temporary signs around that have been up for years!

If its a massive fixture, as in something which takes considerable effort to put up, its a different story. If its something that you just screw onto the wall and can be put up/removed in a couple of minutes then I'd say your fine.
