Poor analog RTE1 & RTE2 reception in Lucan

    I'm staring the journey of moving to DTT from Cable. Need to pump analog around the house for a range of non DTT TV's for now.

    I bought a wideband aerial which I've installed in the attic. I get great TV3 & TG4 from 3 rock but very poor (almost non existent) RTE1/2 on UHF (29 & 33).

    (Incidentally I get a strong DTT signal that I can decode on one DTT enabled TV).

    I do get a good RTE1 & 2 on VHF from the same aerial (not sure if this implies I have the wrong aerial)

    I either need to fix RTE1 & 2 on UHF or hope that RTE on VHF continues.

    Can anyone shed any light ??

    I'd say the attic is the issue.. if you can get the aerial outside, its really worth the effort.

    I'm in Leixlip and have line of sight of Kippure and Three Rock.. so Lucan should be similar.

    Are you pointing at Three Rock?

    Try the aerial feeding one TV first, then distribute it.

    Some questions for the OP:

    - Are you ABSOLUTELY SURE it's a wideband aerial?
    - Are you combining the off-air signals with the UPC cable?
    - Can you compare the TV3 signals from the aerial? (Channel 35 Three Rock and Channel 62 Kippure)
