I can't for the life of me remember what happened to Vincent. Was he killed or did he just disappear with no explanation?

Vincent was actually played by a female dog. She was an incredible actress and did an excellent job at portraying a male. I miss her incredible acting skills.

Anyway I'm hoping (s)he's still alive and comes back for the final episode. It would be cool if the final scene had him licking the television screen. It would be even better if it turned out that everything that happened in Lost was just Vincent dreaming. The best scenario of all however would be if all the characters were fleas on Vincents back.

Vincent was last seen with Rose and Bernard living in the Jungle. They seemed pretty happy, i presumed that they were transported to the present timeline after Juliet died.

I would like to see Flocke walking into the ocean heading 'across the sea' the bodies of the Losties strung on the beach. Flocke smiling in victory but then hits an invisible brick wall, he turns slowly and sees Vincent stting on the beach, wagging his tail, looking peaceful and Jacob-esque, the Candidate revealled!

Flocke falls to his knees in defeat.

Ya, I miss Vincent as well... hope he makes an appearance in the finale.

I'd love to see that happen just to watch the chaos that would ensue....like the writers getting burned at the stake :p

That would be a great ending. It can't be a coincidence that dog is God spelled backwards.

I loved that Vincent got his moment to shine in the last episode, he was brill and you assume lived out a happy life with Hurley and Ben on the island!

After the 'final' episode, Vincent is my hero, my fav of the show, after Hurley. And hense it would be a fitting end if Hurley passed on the sliotar (ahem) to Vincent and hense become protector/master of the island, & since the dog isn't human, he can't pass on ownership, and the island remains 'free' forever !! (has any of that made sense, or are ye lost !?!).

I loved the last scene when - just in case -
Jack was dying, and Vincent came over and lay down beside him
    . Really well done scene.

    I agree.
If I was dying I know someone like Vincent be a great source of comfort.
I thought that was possibly one of the most moving scenes in the history of Lost.

In the history of tv in my humble opinion, that scene killed me altogether

plus "vincent" is actually matthew foxs dog

Same here. I was ready to blub like a baby when Vincent lay down beside Jack. Its probably because I am such a dog lover but that scene really got to me. I thought it was so beautiful. I have watched it 5 times since last night.

I didnt know that vincent was Matthew Fox's dog. Wow. You learn something new every day.

It's amazing isn't it? A lot of people were affected by this scene, including myself. I guess the scene was very lonely as Jack was dying watching his friends fly off, and then the way Vincent appeared and lay mournfully next to him. Along with the fact that it mirrored Jack's first scene with Vincent in season 1. I haven't watched it a 2nd time yet, but I'm glad to hear from you guys that it doesn't lose its impact.

What I love about Vincent is that as a dog he has no clue about the unfolding drama on the island, he's just running around being a dog and so is, in a funny way, heroically invulnerable to all these strange and violent events. Also a throwback to Walt and his dad, so on many levels it injects emotion into the scene. In a way, Vincent is our "constant" on the island , so when he appears beside a dying Jack it is quite a powerful and moving development.

Actually I'm probably disecting it too much. On a fundamental level it's very moving, maybe I should leave it at that.

yeah that scene at the end was amazing.
Really simple but extremely powerful. Brought the story full circle.
Have a labrador myself so gave it an extra kick for me

Yeah my Labrador died recently so that part especially got to me, that and because Vincent is a king amongst canines :D.
