    Just wondering if anyone knows of whether there is any sort of template/recommended format and content for the terms and conditions of a site that'd cover you butt?

    Sorry yep, for an ecommerce site. Just wondering if there was a template/ recommendations. If not I will just lift it off a few sites and adjust to mine I suppose. Thanks for any help, Ard.

    There's probably 3 different items you need:

    General T&C which I think is what you're looking for. You could try this one that's based on UK law; but I don't know how advisable it is to use boilerplate stuff.

    Returns & Shipping policy - should be easy to do yourself

    Privacy policy - I think the data protection guys give a template for this on their site.

    Shouldn't cost an arm and a leg to get T&C's drawn up for Ireland, there are companies that specialise in this this.

    Look at what is in the policies on other ecommerce sites and modify them to suit you?

    Just because someone else is using a set of terms and conditions doesn't mean it's legally sound..

    Using existing terms and conditions as a starting point is fine, but you should really get them checked by a solicitor
