Best Core Exercises

In the last few years, I have really begun to realise the importance of a strong core to the golf swing. Unfortunately mine is letting me down.

What exercises do people feel are the best and most effective, but can be done quickly and easily (something like 10-15 mins per day).

What I do at the moment is swing wth a very heavy practice club for a couple of nights before I play to loosen up a bit - I find this does help a little.

I wouldn't start a program without getting professional advice first, even if it was only one check-up/consultation. Pretty much any exercise with a Swiss Ball and/or a medicine ball will work the core. TBH the list would be very long, a simple start would be sit-ups on the swiss ball, another good one is to sit with legs bent in a kind of "half sit-up" and twist slowly while holding a medicine ball.

A good trainer or physio would be able to give a comprehensive set of exercises - core stuff doesn't have to be particularly complicated but can be difficult to do right and in a sense part of the challenge is mental in that some of the exercises seem very basic and you think "there has to be more to it than this".

I couldn't agree more with Russman. If you just try and copy a set of exercises without being shown them correctly you could do a lot of damage.

I have very good ones, take about 10 mins twice a day - given to my by osteopath and verified by physio
