It's a 12 month contract and you cant change any aspect of the deal without losing it. For example, if you get a deal with a 15MB broadband package, you can't upgrade that to 30MB later. If you do they charge you for everything separately.

I'm trying to find out if that includes multiroom but UPC can't seem to give a straight answer!

*Rubs eyes* I don't see any bargain here.

I currently have Sky and Digiweb
    Digiweb - 50GB a month traffic cap.
    Cost €50 per month
Sky Variety Mix + Sky Sports
    €58 per month

Is there a deal available that would be better that what I have(after the intro offer expires) and if it could include multiroom if possible.

Don't have HD or Sky+ at the moment.

This, but I'm not 100% sure you can get multiroom, it would be another €5 if you could:

Tried it last month and cancelled a couple of days later as they failed to install broadband plus the customer service was dreadful and despite giving them a couple of chances to rectify it they failed so I cancelled.

I was repeatedly passed from one person to another and given completely opposing bits of information.

    Barge pole springs to mind.

Couldn't disagree more. Previously had the TV service with them and recently signed up for the broadband via the link here for the €50 voucher. Was kept totally informed throughout the whole process via text and mobile calls. Engineer was on time and I can't fault them. Finally the 5meg broadband is nice and steady and have not had any problems at all.

Lucky for you that you got that service which is the opposite to what I got and since then I've had plenty of people tell me of their poor experiences.

Have to say over the past few years, I have found the customer services great at UPC. Broadband was installed on time and the speeds are fantastic. Doesn't suffer from contention ratio like my BT broadband did for years.

Maybe UPC in Waterford is run differently.

    +1

had problems initially installing the broadband but the communication from UPC was excellent. Plenty of phonecalls and texts from UPC keeping me up to date. The 30Mb broadband is fantastic. I wasn't charged until I was happy with the service. Have had the TV for about 5 years and I think it was down only once. I availed of the €50 offer to get the broadband. Used the voucher to get a badly needed new vacuum cleaner!!!

They rang me back a little while ago, Broadband not available in the area.
But I had rang Sky in the meantime to say that I could get TV & Broadband for 95 euro a month. So Sky said they can drop 20% of the TV Bill for the next year. :)

TV & Broadband for 95 euro a month

Where are you located in the country as Sky have told me they don't do
Broadband in ROI and have no idea when they will.

I think he meant that he told sky he was leaving cause of better offer and they gave 20% off.

That doesn't mention anything about getting into the residential market and from the way the article is written I can't see sky wanting to use it for residential internet connections

The TV and Broadband for 95 was with UPC, but after talking to them, they don't do the broadband in my area.

Sky is TV only, Broadband is with Digiweb.

UPC rang me this evening to try sell me this offer - as an existing analogue customer I can get a good deal, they said.

I'd be looking for 5MB broadband, basic digital TV & PSTN line. Their call charges look high (must do a proper check) - for example I call UK mobiles a fair bit. Also I can't find their definition of daytime / evening / weekend (an old trick for telcos, making the evening start at 8pm or whenever). I guess I could go to Blueface or wherever for my PSTN but I'd need to research it properly. Moreover I had awful (I'm in Dublin) customer care from them the last few times, although the last time was 2+ years ago. And in fairness to eircom, their customer care has been good enough.

In summary I'm interested but cautious.
