I'm glad you said 'midge' and not 'midget', a common mistake.... Although it does make for unintentionally hilarious posting e.g. "OMG I got attacked by swarms of feckin midgets while I was walking the dog" :D Great mental imagery

the midges we have here are charming fuddermuckers compared to the ones you get in scotland...
those wee feckers will eat you alive.. and are active both at night and day.

today was particularly noticeable for greenfly/aphids though..

there were loads of them flying around this morning..noticed loads of dead ones on the bus too

Green flies kept tangling themselves up in my arm hair when I was cycling and I also had to unpeel a few of them from my eye ball at various times. Wtf is going on?

I think the little pests have been forced from their native country , Greenland.
As a result of the volcanic eruption in Eyjafjallajökull

Blame the polish. They took our jobs and brought the midge with them.

They ate the swans, that would have eaten the midges

I've just been attacked by a swarm of them feckers

I have plenty of fly killer sprays at the ready to zap the feckers in the apt. Can't even open the window anymore

I'm guessing its mating season for Aphids...

theres another day during the summer when female ants spread their wings and are flying all over the place

The little bastards have been out in force along Clonliffe Road for the last few weeks, same every year. Can't even breathe for fear of inhaling a bunch of them! Nothing worse than having one fly right into your eye.

True, but here at work there are tons of spiders that seem to have gone vegetarian or don't know how to kill the flies

I should send them to do a FAS course or something

Thank God others have noticed this too..
I've been walking to work the last few mornings with my mouth clasped shut, trying to take shallow breaths thru my nose, and desperately trying to not get any in my eyes!
Then when I get to work, I've to shake the little f*cks from my clothes.. It's making walking to work way too stressful!
