Well we are finally going to get a movies on demand service. Sony signed a deal with MUBI who provide independent, Indie and world cinema. It will be coming in the Autum.

Its not new movies like others get but its a start it will launch with 300 films including ones from Tarintino and The Cohen brothers. Its will have free films :) and pay per view ones.

    More here if your interested.

Why can't Sony put on movies owned by Sony?

I wouild be interested in the monthly subscription assuming the price is right of course.

Looks good. I'm hoping it will be better than the itunes one anyway.

I think (this is all in my head and based on no facts whatsoever) but there are prob problems with licencing. That the cost to sell them here isnt worth it for such a small market. It wouldnt surprise me if some goverment body has rights here that make it messy or expensive.

I thought this looked good until I checked their site to see what movies are actually available in our region - never heard of any of them :) I'm not averse to checking this out when it launches, but the promo video is misleading - unless they extend the movies they will offer here.
