My dell inspiron 1525 hasnt been charging . Rang dell up they told me that it needed a new motherboard which would cost 300 + but they offered me 3 years warranty for 180 and then they would fix the motherboard.
has anyone else had this problem and is there any other cheaper way to get it charging?

    Have you tried another charger

Most likely the charging port has broke off the motherboard or it is broke itself

Either way it can be repaired pm me for more info

It sounds to me like the machine is running on the charger but it's failing to charge the battery.

check for corrosion where the battery connects etc. If there is a significant amount, removing it might fix the problem.
