Round-Card Girls - Let's See a Contest!

Pro boxing nights in Ireland would be more appealing if promoters followed the American practice of staging a "Miss Ringsider" contest between the round-card girls.

It's usually done half-way through the programme, with a cash prize for the winner. The girls get introduced one by one in the ring before parading individually to be judged by the fans.

This spectacle works best when bikinis or one-piece swimsuits are worn. Girls involved in the glamour business have no trouble flashing the flesh, and the contest is a highlight of any promotion.

@ lucozader: If RTE cant find time for some of the fights surely they can turn a blind eye to the ring girl contest. Might boost ticket sales / live stream hits if anything :cool:

OP: Maybe it wouldnt catch on as an event on the night but sure an auld boards award wouldnt harm. If ony there was someone who could take decent pics at the show :P

RTE make more money from ads than they do round card girls, and even if they unwittengly catch a ring girl on camera they fumble off and film something else. Just incase Biddy gets upset with Paddy...

Indeed. The blonde babe who held the Irish flag was very cute. But her dress was less revealing than the brunette, whose semi-topless look was extremely eye-catching:D
