They look like great value for money... :)

they certainly do look good but i would be unsure about quality since sx are part of the same company and personally i think they suck big time

They are talked about quite highly over on the Harmony Central forums and Sevenstring.org. I really like the look of this fanned fret 7, pity the pickup isnt slanted http://www.rondomusic.com/pendulum7bloodb.html :(

Yeah but theres SX, then Douglas guitars, and then Agile guitars, and apparently each brand is of a slightly higher quality. Agile make some amazing looking 7 string neck thru guitars...

And Im looking for people that have actually played Agile guitars, so I can get a real idea of what they're like!

Its a multiscale guitar starting at 25.5" on the high E going to 27" on the low B. This creates a guitar with balanced tone and string tension. Pianos work in a similar way:

Its not a huge issue for 6 string guitars but on 7,8 and 9 string guitars its a great way of adding tension to the lower strings that would otherwise just be flopping around. I love this one:

No way, I have to play a guitar like that, it looks amazing!! :D

How much different is it to playing a normal guitar?

I am still yet to play one myself but apparently it feels very natural and comfortable and only takes a few minutes to adjust too.

I've always heard brilliant things about Agile over on Ultimate-guitar and Sevenstring.org. Can't say I have ever played one but they seem highly recommended.

Agile are not even made in the same place as SX if I recall correctly. Rondo just distribute them as well as the Brice and Douglas brands too. The Agile Les Pauls are very highly regarded online, and they are really good at catering for the niche Extended range market. They put some guitars into production based on interest from forums like sevenstring.org. For the money they are pretty great. I got one and even with the added cost of a case, shipping and customs it worked out at a good price.

I have an Intrepid. It's a pretty nice guitar, the stock pickups aren't even that bad on it. The fretwork and build quality seems decent too, I've not had any problems with it in the 6 months I've been using it.

Any idea of the cost altogether?

I can't remember the exact costs now but I got a bolt-on model with 2 pickups which is kinda in the middle of the range. The shipping was only $70 and the case another $60. Customs was about 1/5th of the total I think. In the end I got it all for about €700. Some of the AL models are cheaper though so you could get them with less on customs and so you'd save more.
